Support & Tools

Since the Benchmarks have been adopted as part of national policy, Gatsby has been working to share the lessons learned as part of the benchmarks pilot in the North East of England and deepen our understanding of what good looks like through our research and publications.

We work in partnership with national organisations, including the Careers & Enterprise Company, to support all schools and colleges on their improvement journey. Click below to read about these organisations and the support they can offer.

Reaching the Gatsby Benchmarks handbook

Compiled in collaboration with the schools and colleges who took part in the North East pilot of the Gatsby Benchmarks, this handbook contains good practice tips and case studies of how schools and colleges can meet the Benchmarks.

Support for Special Educational Needs and Disabilities

As the benchmarks were taken up by schools and colleges during the North East pilot, a group of practitioners working with students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), in mainstream and special schools, agreed that the benchmarks framework was applicable to all students. Gatsby has published Good Career Guidance: Perspectives from the SEND sector to give a voice to practitioners and national stakeholders. The publication examines how the Gatsby benchmarks have been used successfully to enhance careers education in a range of contexts. Click below to read about their experiences.
